First Painting for 6x6x2012

Here's the first painting I'm entering for the 6x6x2012 exhibit in Rochester, NY.

Based off of a photograph of the project build "Tesla", a Triumph Motorcycle by my Dad, Jeff.

Things to Come....

I haven't been keeping up with this blog as much as I intended to, I wish I could say that it's because I've been swamped with work, or that I'm busy with other things that would be entertaining, but that's a lie.

I haven't been keeping up because I am finding myself at a crossroads. Not just the kind in the desert without a stop sign, where a kid with a guitar might try to out-strum the Devil to save his soul, but a kind of crossroads that's more of a major highway interchange. Oh, the wonders of being 24.

I think at this point I have given up on planning things, or coming up with any real life plan that has a concrete "step 1, step 2..." and so on. I have my education in art school that I'm continuing, I've started school at the flight academy, and there are several projects that I've been contemplating lately that I absolutely have to finish as an artist. Otherwise, my head might actually explode, or implode, or just plode.

I mentioned awhile back that I had interest in completing a comic book, which I have begun. The book relates to the vulture drawings from a few months ago, so be on the lookout for updates with that. Also, there is a show in Rochester, NY called "6x6x2012" coming up in June, which is a charity-type show that exhibits the work of hundreds upon hundreds of artists from dozens of countries and nearly every state in the U.S. I'll be participating in that show as well this year :)

Aside from those two things coming up (the Rochester show being soon, the comic book being ongoing) there is the usual schooling and work-related goodness that is normal for me. So while I won't say that I'm going to be posting regularly, I will try to get back on the horse and be a bit more frequent.

As far as the life plan thingy goes, I think that without being too specific, because let's face it, nobody knows what tomorrow will bring with the world being the way it is currently, I am going to follow every avenue I can until one presents itself as being the most pleasing. Kind of a "go with the flow" attitude, try my hardest to pursue all of the things I want to do, giving equal attention to each, and seeing where they all lead. Sounds pretty vague, and that's because it is, I don't know what's going to happen in the future, but I am going at it with a beginner's mind and open to anything.

All right Universe, let's see how "wingin' it" goes... :)
